About Me

Welcome to my little home here on the big, big world wide web. I love that you've come to spend some time with me.

I am first and foremost a daughter of the King. I love God more than anything in the world and strive to, daily, become more and more the woman He has in mind for me to be. What a wonderful journey it is. Sometimes amazingly wonderful and other times excruciatingly difficult, but He never said it would be easy. He just said He'd be there with me the whole time. And He is.

In 2014 we moved across the country from Alberta to Ontario to be closer to family. I am married to my very best friend, Jason. We are complete opposites and it works ~most times (let's be honest here, marriage has its challenges). He is outgoing and loud. I am introverted and quiet (mostly - unless you really, really know me). We balance each other out. We love renovating and have renovated one house completely from top to bottom and we updated our second home, which was slower going because we have thrown two little ones into the mix, which makes it a lot more challenging to get projects completed.

After much soul searching, seeking wisdom from God and others, we followed God's calling when He called us to move back to Alberta in the summer of 2018. We are renovating a cute one and a half storey house built in 1946, enjoying the challenge and fun of bringing back to life, a house that holds stories from the past 72 years, and make it our home.

Jason and I had two beautiful miracles in our lives. Mikail was our four and a half year old Brave Warrior Boy. He brought us quiet joy in his sensitive caring way each and every day until he unexpectedly passed away on January 23, 2015, waking up at the feet of Jesus. You can read his story by following the link at the top of the blog titled 'Mikail's Story'. I write a lot about our grief journey here on the blog, so you'll get to know him better here as well.

Olivia is six years old and she is our Spirited Girl. She brings a lot of exuberant joy into our family. She is hilariously funny, has a huge heart filled with compassion and empathy far beyond her age. She loves people and is enjoying her new school after our cross Canada move.

When I am not busy with my family, I love to write and encourage others in their life through my writing. I write about my triumphs and struggles in life ~ marriage, parenting, grief, travel, cancer, friendship, depression, our spiritual journey and so on. I also write about the daily things of life ~ recipes, home decor, organization, renovations, travel, and the list goes on.

I am learning how to DREAM BIG because God has God-sized dreams for us. Won't you join me on this adventure? Follow the blog. "Like" my Facebook page. Check me out on Pinterest and Instagram. Join me on this journey and be encouraged that we serve an awesome God.
