  1. Anxious dear brings depression, but a life-giving word of encouragement can do wonders to restore joy to the heart. Proverbs 12:25 The Passion Translation

This translation really spoke to where I am right now. It speaks of how encouraging words restore joy to the heart. To me restoration feels permanent—life giving. To have permanent joy be restored in my heart would feel amazing. Yes, there are moments of happiness but true joy deep in my soul? How amazing would that be? —Iris

  2. The word restore has come up in my reading a few times lately. I was reading Psalm 23 because it is such a calming Psalm...lying down in green pastures, being led beside quiet waters...but what I hadn’t noticed before was that He also “restores my soul” NIV. In these times, when my spirit is flagging, it encourages me to know that God will restore my soul and restore joy to my heart. That gives me hope.
