Intro to the "Ruth: Waiting on God's Timing" Study

Because of our big move and things being up in the air in our lives at the time, I didn’t lead or join a group during the latest Good Morning Girls Study and boy have I missed it. I can hardly wait until the Esther Study starts in September, but that is still five whole weeks away and I’m itching to dig into the Word a bit more than my usually daily Quiet Time.

I’ve been on the lookout for a four week study to do while I wait for September 1st and there really isn’t one that I could find that was four weeks long and thought that perhaps this is a good time to dig into the book of Ruth, like I’ve wanted to for a while. There are longer, in depth studies on the book of Ruth that look amazing, but they are just too long for this short period of time, so I am gleaning ideas from various sources and making my own simple walk through the book.

Are you looking for a way to dig into the Word for about four weeks? Join me!

How will it work?

4     Interaction – In the past I have created a ‘secret’ Facebook Group for online Bible Studies I have done, but this limits things for those who are not on Facebook. So, this time around I will just have things via the blog. Please feel free to interact with me and others in the comments section or email me if you prefer.

What is the S.O.A.P. Bible Study Method?
It's quite simple. S.O.A.P is an acronym to help you dig deeper into the passage you are reading from your Bible.
Scripture – write out the verse or verses that stuck out to you in your reading. Sometimes a verse is given to you to write out, when following a group study.
Observation - What did you observe about the scripture that struck you. This can be one sentence or a whole book.
Application- How can you apply the observation so that it affects your life today.
Prayer- Write out a prayer to God based on what you just learned and ask him to help you apply this truth in your life.

Did I miss anything? Please leave questions in the comments section, or send me an email.

Stay tuned for Day One of our Ruth study on Monday August 4th.
